The statewide CoC is an organization of service providers, state government, officials, members of the faith based community, employees of the Veteran’s Administration, and other individuals providing services to or interested in the care of people who are homeless. The existence of the CoC is a requirement of the federal department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the acquisition of HUD grant funding. HUD calculates available funding based on the effectiveness of the state’s CoC. These calculations are made through a performance point system set by HUD.
The Wyoming Homeless Collaborative, WHC, is a statewide planning and coordinating group focusing on housing and support services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We provide a united voice for designing the homeless system in Wyoming which allows us to access federal, state, and local funds to support the system.
Our goal is to end homelessness in our communities across the state. We accomplish this by gathering data on the homeless in each community, evaluate that data, and determine if each community’s system of care is meeting the needs. Membership requires attendance at two meetings a year and involvement in a WHC committee.
Your voice and involvement in the WHC will strengthen the organization and assist us in meeting our goal.
