Wyoming’s annual Sheltered and Unsheltered Point in Time (PIT) and Housing Inventory Count (HIC) is January 26, 2022.

What is the Sheltered Point in Time and Housing Inventory Counts?
The Sheltered PIT and HIC is an annual event that allows our communities to take stock of the residential space available for members of the community who are experiencing homelessness. By counting all persons who were in a homeless, residential project on the night of the event, we are also able to measure the demographics of those served by homeless services on the date of this state-wide event.

When is the Sheltered PIT and HIC Count?
This year’s PIT and HIC event will take place at sunset, the night of January 26th  through sunup of the 27th.  Each year the PIT and HIC happen within the last 10 days of January to capture what situations persons are experiencing during some of the worst weather of the season and when personal resources can be at their lowest.

What project types are included in the Sheltered PIT and HIC Count?

Sheltered Point in Time (PIT):

  • Emergency Shelter (ES)
  • Safe Haven (SH)
  • Transitional Housing (TH)

  • Emergency Shelter (ES)

How do we prepare for the Sheltered PIT and HIC and Unsheltered PIT Count?
This year, ICA will be asking agencies to submit information through two different online portals, one for sheltered and one for unsheltered. We will release the portal along with pre-recorded training videos to watch at your convenience.
